02University Technical College · Case study
A University Technical College on Britain’s Energy Coast needed a clear public face for students, parents and industry partners — academic excellence without corporate fluff.
01The delivered site
The layout we shipped for this project — desktop first, with a phone view where we have one.

02The brief
What we were hired to fix
Prospectus PDFs, buried open-day details and outdated news kill trust before a visit is booked. UTCs especially need to explain a distinctive offer — engineering, energy, cyber — in plain language.
Parents and students needed one calm place to understand the college, apply and stay informed.
03What we delivered
We designed information architecture around journeys that matter: courses, admissions, enrichment and partnership — with tone that fits a technical college, not a retail brand.
Content and layout were built to update easily so term-time news does not require a developer for every post.
Parents, patients, trade buyers or partners each get a door. One homepage does not try to be all of them.
Tiers, sessions and fixed jobs with GBP on the card — so the quote form is a confirmation, not a first contact.
Slots, discovery calls or quote forms sit next to the offer, not three clicks later in a buried contact page.
New packages slot into the same grid without a redesign when the firm grows.
04Outcomes
What the UTC stands for is visible in the first viewport — not buried three clicks down.
Clear routes for prospectus, open events and applications.
Staff can keep news and events current without breaking the design system.

A short call with the person who would run it — not a sales script.
