1. Our commitment.
VibeCoders wants people to be able to perceive, understand, navigate and interact with https://vibecoders.org.uk — including people who use assistive technologies.
Accessibility is part of how we design and engineer products for clients, and we apply the same principles to our own marketing Site as far as reasonably practicable.
This Accessibility Policy describes our aims for vibecoders.org.uk, the standards we work toward, known gaps, and how to contact us if you encounter a barrier.
2. Scope.
This policy covers the public marketing pages of the Site under our control, including home, services, about, work, resources, contact, booking and legal pages.
It does not automatically cover third-party properties we link to (calendars, social networks, video platforms) or client products we build under separate contracts — those have their own accessibility requirements agreed with the client.
3. Legal and standards context (UK).
In the United Kingdom, the Equality Act 2010 prohibits discrimination against disabled people and requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments.
Public-sector bodies have additional duties under the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018. We are a private marketing site, but we still treat WCAG as the practical benchmark for accessible web content.
Our target standard for the Site is Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, applied proportionately to a marketing site of this scale.
4. Measures we take.
We work to improve accessibility through design and engineering practices such as:
- Semantic HTML structure (landmarks, headings, lists, links) rather than visuals alone.
- Visible focus styles for keyboard users, and interactive components that can be reached without a pointer where we control the component.
- Colour contrast intended to meet WCAG AA for primary text and controls on standard themes.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images where we author them; decorative imagery marked appropriately where feasible.
- Avoiding information conveyed by colour alone for critical UI states we control.
- Respecting user motion preferences where animations are implemented (for example reduced-motion friendly behaviour).
- Responsive layouts that reflow on common viewport sizes without requiring two-dimensional scrolling for primary reading content.
- Forms with associated labels and clear error handling on pages we author.
- Skip-to-content and consistent navigation patterns where implemented.
5. Conformance status.
We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance for primary content journeys. At any given time the Site may be partially conformant: some content meets the standard fully; some areas may not yet, or may rely on third-party embeds outside our full control.
We test with a mix of automated checks, manual keyboard review, and spot checks with common assistive technology setups as capacity allows. Automated tools alone cannot prove conformance.
6. Known limitations.
We are transparent about areas that may create barriers today:
- Video and motion: hero or case-study video may autoplay (often muted). Controls and transcripts may be incomplete on some media. If motion or autoplay causes difficulty, tell us and we can provide a static alternative.
- Third-party media: images or videos loaded from external hosts may lack captions, audio description or consistent accessible players.
- Complex interactive patterns: mega-menus, carousels or hover-dependent cues can be harder with some assistive technologies; we iterate when issues are found.
- PDF or downloadable assets (if added later) may not always be fully tagged; request an accessible format if needed.
- Older browser or AT combinations: we prioritise current evergreen browsers and widely used screen readers; legacy environments may see reduced fidelity.
Finding a barrier does not mean we will not fix it — please report it so we can prioritise.
7. Compatibility.
The Site is designed to work with modern browsers (current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge) and common assistive technologies such as screen readers (for example VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS), magnification, and keyboard-only navigation.
JavaScript is required for the full single-page application experience. If you need a non-JS alternative for essential information, contact us and we will help.
8. Feedback and requests.
If you have trouble using any part of vibecoders.org.uk, please email info@vibecoders.org.uk with:
- The page URL.
- A description of the problem.
- The device, browser and assistive technology you were using (if known).
- What you were trying to do.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within five working days and to provide a substantive response or workaround within a further ten working days where reasonably practicable.
You can also request information from the Site in an alternative format (for example plain-text summary of a service page, or a larger-print PDF of a policy). We will discuss reasonable adjustments with you.
9. Enforcement and complaints.
If you are unhappy with our response to an accessibility concern, you may escalate within our organisation via the same email address, marking the message “Accessibility escalation”.
Depending on your situation, you may also seek advice from the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) or pursue rights under the Equality Act 2010. Public-sector complainants may have additional routes under the accessibility regulations; those routes are aimed primarily at public bodies.
10. Accessibility in client delivery.
For client projects, accessibility requirements (for example WCAG 2.2 AA, specific AT matrices, or audit cadence) are agreed in the statement of work. Marketing claims on this Site about our engineering standards do not by themselves create a warranty for a particular client deliverable; the contract does.
11. Review of this policy.
We review this Accessibility Policy when the Site changes materially and at least annually. Last updated: 30 July 2026.
